Bertha Benz

Bertha Benz was a German automotive pioneer. She was the business partner and wife of automobile inventor Karl Benz, and on August 5th 1888, she was the first person to drive an automobile over a long distance. It took Bertha 12 Hours to complete the 106 km journey to her parents house in Pforzheim. During that time she invented brake pads and solved several practical issues. Due to her bravery she brought the Benz Patent-Motorwagen worldwide attention and got the company its very first sales.

In August we take the time to remember Bertha Benz and all of her accomplishments. This video linked below is very inspiring to us and to our company. Bertha Benz believed in more than a car, she believed in herself, she introduced her husband’s invention to the world and changed our lives forever. This is a woman we will continue to look up to. We created this hat to remember her, her bravery and her strength, especially in the month of August.
